Practice Philosophy
As a therapist, I believe the most important part of this work is creating a safe, trusting space where you feel genuinely seen and heard. My goal is to walk alongside you in your healing journey, offering compassion, empathy, and guidance as you navigate life’s challenges. I strive to build a therapeutic relationship that feels authentic and collaborative, where you know that your voice matters and your experiences are valued.
My approach is integrative, which means I draw from several different therapeutic models depending on your needs. With some clients, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns while developing healthier coping strategies. At times, I draw on psychodynamic therapy, exploring how early experiences and relationships may still influence emotions and behaviors today. I also bring in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which allows us to explore the different “parts” of yourself in a way that fosters understanding and compassion.
I am deeply guided by a trauma-informed perspective, recognizing the impact that past experiences can have on present-day functioning. Safety, trust, and respect are at the center of how I work. For clients struggling with trauma, I also incorporate evidence-based approaches such as EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which can help reprocess difficult memories and lessen their emotional weight.
At the same time, I often integrate mindfulness practices into therapy. Slowing down, noticing your inner world, and learning to be present can be incredibly powerful in reducing stress and creating balance. Whether we are focusing on trauma, relationships, or personal growth, I believe therapy is about helping you build resilience and recognize your own capacity to heal.
Above all, I see therapy as a space for empowerment. My hope is that you not only feel supported and understood but also leave each session with greater clarity, confidence, and tools you can use long after therapy ends.
Therapeutic Approach & Specialties
Adolescents
Supporting teens is another important area of my work. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which is an evidence-based approach specifically designed for teens who have experienced trauma. This framework allows me to help young clients process difficult experiences while building coping skills, emotional regulation, and resilience. I also support teens as they navigate identity, peer relationships, and the often overwhelming transitions of adolescence.
For Individual Therapy with Adults
I work with adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and major life transitions. I am EMDR trained and trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), both of which are powerful tools for working through trauma. My approach with adults combines a psychodynamic framework with the structured support of CBT and the insight-oriented techniques of Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, these approaches help clients develop greater self-awareness, process unresolved experiences, and build strategies to move forward in healthier ways.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy is a meaningful part of my practice. I utilize the Gottman Method, which is a research-based approach that helps couples strengthen communication, deepen intimacy, and navigate conflict more effectively. I also bring in psychodynamic and trauma-informed techniques, since many relationship struggles stem from earlier experiences or unresolved wounds. My goal is to help couples break free from unhelpful cycles and rediscover connection, trust, and partnership.
Trauma and EMDR
Working with trauma is at the heart of my practice. Trauma can take many forms, and its effects often show up in ways clients may not immediately recognize—through anxiety, difficulty in relationships, or even physical symptoms. I use EMDR to help clients reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming, as well as CPT to reshape unhelpful beliefs related to trauma. My trauma-informed lens means I move at your pace, always prioritizing safety, empowerment, and healing.
Mindfulness and Stress Reduction
In addition to formal therapeutic techniques, I regularly integrate mindfulness-based practices. Mindfulness is a gentle but powerful way to cultivate awareness of your thoughts and emotions, reduce stress, and reconnect with yourself. Many of my clients find that developing a more mindful presence helps them regulate emotions, manage anxiety, and find more balance in their day-to-day lives.
Background
From an early age, I was the friend others turned to for support, often stepping in to listen or help resolve conflicts. Inspired by my mom, a special education teacher, I learned the power of compassion and connection, sparking my passion for psychology and helping others. Over time, I realized therapy was where I felt most at home: guiding people to understand themselves more deeply, strengthen relationships, and find clarity in life’s challenges.
Today, I live in Miami Beach with my husband and our two cats, Sebastian and Lucy. We’ve become part of a close-knit community where we’ve lovingly taken on the role of “mom and dad” of the group, a reflection of how much I value supporting and connecting with others. That same spirit of warmth and care is what I bring into my work as a therapist. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing board games, and exploring creative hobbies like embroidery, coloring, and learning to crochet.
At the heart of both my personal and professional journey is a belief that healing happens through connection. My greatest joy is helping clients build self-awareness, discover resilience, and move forward with hope.
